What is DTMF?
The tones a phone sends when you press a key.
Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency signalling is what a phone transmits when a key is pressed — each key sends two simultaneous tones that the receiving system decodes. It is how IVR menus read keypresses, and how callers enter account numbers and PINs.
