What is SIP trunking?

Connecting a phone system to the network over the internet.

A SIP trunk carries calls between a business phone system and a telecoms provider over an internet connection rather than physical phone lines. Capacity is a matter of configuration rather than cabling, so adding concurrent call capacity does not mean installing anything.
