What is Packet loss?

Audio packets that never arrive.

Packet loss is the proportion of audio packets that fail to reach the far end. Small amounts are masked by concealment algorithms; beyond a few percent, speech becomes clipped and words drop out entirely.

This is an industry glossary. A term defined here is not a statement that Drop AI provides it — see the pricing page for what is included.
